The Chinese firm behind Gionee Elife S7 has given up pursuing the title of producing the world’s thinnest smartphone. The market has been really tough on that. Rather than claim that spot, the company is working hard in order to create the best smartphone available, within the slimmest possible chassis. Even though the strategy may not be completely changed, but it still shows that the brand has grown.
The resulting product is the Gionee Elife S7 model. This phone is a big deal for the company because it launched this phone during the Mobile World Congress, first time that they have done so.
Features of Gionee Elife S7
Gionee Elife S7 has a thickness of 5.5mm. Even though it does not have a sub-5mm chassis does not really mean that the company has not tried doing so. As a matter of fact, it turned out that it is the most accomplished model yet. The phones from Gionee have always been made beautifully. The Elife S7 model was also not an exception. It has a body that is delicate, and running with precision track all over.
The phone itself is oozing with character and is relatively giving a grippier feel compared to the super light and slippery Elife S5.1. It has an aluminium magnesium alloy body that is placed between two Gorilla Glass 3 pieces. Even though some may actually say that it has a horrible fingerprint magnet, BUT it still has an overall appeal.
The camera of the Elife S7 model is full of features, such as the depth-of-field adjustment, facial-recognition mode, gesture controls, as well as advanced low-light setting. Other phones have generally suffered due to annoying speeds with their slow shutter, so it was updated in this model, producing one of the fastest available.
Gionee has also brought Amigo UI to a higher version 3.0. This means new features including choosing an image in creating a colour setting for the phone’s UI. Its Android 5.0 OS also results to a speedy and smooth running. One good thing about this model is that it finally addressed issues related to cooling that was experienced on the S5.1 model. Rather than keeping the heat on just one place, it spreads heat all over the body.
Gionee seems to have found its way in terms of design. While its glass rear and front may remind us of the older versions of iPhone as well as the hardware of Sony Xperia, the Elife S7 model is distinct on its own. This time, however, the design is better. Aside from the standard black and white options, it also comes in a cool Maldives Blue Colour.
